Orfeu ed Euridice
from Christoph Willibald Gluck

The myth of Orfeu, from Love that exceeds death itself, is one of the founders myths most used in literature of all peoples, times and ages. Orfeu is a simple mortal human being, one exceptional musician that, by the love of Euridice, go down to the hells, face the Fúrias and all the devils to rescue her from the shadows.
Gods gave him such ability with one condition: as long it takes her coming back to the living world can not Orfeu look to his beloved one neither correspond to her love claims. This test reveals to cruel, as Euridice does not believe anymore that Orfeu loves her, so, she doesn't want to retur
n. Orfeu yields but, as soon as he touch her, she vanishes, back in the deepening of earth. Will be there any hope for both lovers?
All the action is controlled, like in a game, by the demiurge Cupido, from which powerful magic, and only its, is going to depend the end of the opera.
